Noashima island, Japan
Noashima island is the origin island for Setouchi Triennale. Every three years there are thousands of visitors visit this festival. The festival features over 150 art works (including surrounding small islands) by artists from both japan and throughout the world. Pike and Rose, Maryland
Unlike those remoted islands in Japan, Pike and Rose is another successful example at the other side of creative spectrum.
Pike and Rose is a mixed-use neighborhood in North Bethesda Maryland. Opposite to unreachable rural site, this site is along the major arterial-Rockville pike. The whole development covers 32 acres and with buildings ranging up to 20 stories. Here, they use the same four tools to enhance the ideology of this new neighborhood.
